Founded in 2002, Faith Guitars are the passion of a small team of seasoned guitar experts based in Shropshire, England and led by world-renowned British luthier, Patrick James Eggle.
Patrick says: “My approach to building guitars could easily be described as obsessive. My life has been driven by guitars of all types since I was a young boy and having built my first instrument at the age of 15, I have been refining the design ever since."
"Much like a sculptor or material artist, I start with a clear picture of the end result. Then I choose the appropriate Tonewood’s, bracing pattern and touch-point materials, and can set about the process of shaping these raw materials into both a playable and desirable instrument."
"Whether it’s one of my own UK-built PJE guitars or one of my Faith designs, my goal is the same: the creation of an instrument that is both highly desirable and highly functional. A piece that would be as visually effective when silent as it would be sonically when in the hands of a skilled musician."

"The use of solid Tonewood is central to the sound of all Faith Guitars. Although laminated woods have their place in instrument building, wherever possible solid woods are preferable, as just as a fine wine, solid wood will mature and improve over time, as will the instrument's tone."
The Soundboard
"As with many of my own PJE instruments, I selected Solid Englemann Spruce for the tops of all Faith guitars. These slow-growing trees found mainly at altitude in and around North America have been chosen for their special acoustic properties for many years. The colors can range from a stark white to cream with pronounced vertical grain evident throughout. "
“Tonally, Spruce will give a clear, crisp tone with high levels of harmonic articulation especially when matched to specific tonewoods on the back and sides of the instrument"
The Back and Sides
"Mahogany guitars such as the Faith Natural Series, Faith Eclipse Series and Faith Naked Series deliver a tone focused on the mid-range. If you visualize the tonal characteristics in terms of a frequency curve, it will look like a frown: lower at the bass, curving up through the middle and dipping again at the top end.
The resultant tone will be warm and sweet. This tonal character means that all the notes blend together well and therefore is ideal for strumming and accompaniment purposes, and when recorded, it sits comfortably in a mix."
Guitar Thrills Broadcast
Guitar Thrills Magazine encounter with Faith Guitars Pre-Amp Acoustic.
To date, I haven’t reviewed a pre-amp guitar that I truly enjoyed. It was either hit or miss. Hybrids can either lack tone on the acoustic side, or lacking in tone plugged into an amp. With that said, I found a pre-amp manufacturer that exceeded my expectations. With a strong introduction it is obvious that the brand is “Faith Guitars”. I shared my concerns with them, and they had no hesitations with providing insight as to why their pre-amp guitars would fit the bill.
The Blood Moon Venus experience
The tone of this guitar is impeccable. The pre-amp effects of the Bood Moon Venus are simply stellar. On the acoustic side, I compare it to the high-end acoustic guitars that I have reviewed. Such as the Guild F40 that comes it around $2,600.00. You are familiar with the saying “you get what you pay for”. Well, in the case of the Blood Moon Venus guitar, you get much more than what you pay for. Just under $1,299.00 the Blood Moon guitar can be yours. On top of the benefits of an acoustic, you also get the preamp features.

Honestly, it was difficult for me to plug into my amp. Not because of desire, but due to the draw from the smooth vanilla tones of this creative build. It has quickly became my “go to” guitar. We all have that one guitar that we turn to that will hits the sweet spot with songs that have slow to mid speed rhythms. It hurts me to have to turn my head, on my reliable Yamaha, to pull the Blood Moon Venus out of its case. However, it has become a jewel and there will be an in-depth review of this guitar. Therefore, we will be publishing a thorough review throughout our use of the Blood Moon Venus guitar.
