Not every picking issue comes down to improper form, or inferior guitar picks. Though some of the problems can be traced back to poor execution of using a guitar pick. However, I have been intrigued by this frequent problem that continues to plague many guitarists. Regardless of how long you have been playing.
This issue can be traced back to natural elements that can make holding an impact almost feel impossible to do. I have discovered the culprit called “Sebum”. Your fingers naturally produce oils, primarily sebum, to keep your skin healthy and moisturized, which can also be a factor in fingerprint visibility. Sebaceous glands, which are found throughout the skin (except on the palms and soles), produce sebum, a waxy, oily substance that moisturizes and protects the skin.
Sebum, along with sweat, contributes to the formation of fingerprints, which are unique patterns of ridges and valleys on the fingertips. These natural oils help to keep the skin supple, prevent it from drying out, and protect it from external irritants. The presence of oils on the fingertips can enhance the visibility of fingerprints, making them easier to see and capture.
The palms of your hands and the soles of your feet are unique in that they lack sebaceous glands, meaning they don't produce as much sebum as other areas of the body. Even small amounts of oil from fingers can affect the accuracy of precise measurements, such as in weight calibration. So is this way too much information? I thought knowing this big of information will help prevent you from undue frustration.
In addition, please note, that while it may seem to remedy the situation, licking your fingers to grip your guitar pick is disgusting, and can contribute to unwelcomed health issues.

The right pick is the remedy. I have researched this issue extensively. Using every sort of guitar pick available in the market.
